How to Get Started
Step 1: Define Your Neighborhood
Get started by talking with neighbors who are interested in helping to get your neighborhood organization going. This team will work to define your neighborhood’s boundaries and submit a neighborhood recognition request. Your Neighborhood Liaison can assist with this process.
Tips for Defining Boundaries
|
|
Once you have a sense of your neighborhood geographically, follow the steps in the Neighborhood Organization Toolkit to start your neighborhood organization.
Organize Your Neighborhood
Step 2: Connect With Your Neighbors
Organize a meeting to brainstorm ideas. Discuss what types of resources, events and improvements could make a positive impact. Think about areas where community resources and activities could benefit a broad range of residents. This is a chance to hear everyone's ideas and build a shared vision for the neighborhood.
