Street Improvement Program

Identifying & Prioritizing Street Improvements

The City of Burnsville improves a select number of local streets each year. The selected streets are identified annually in the five-year Capital Improvement Plan (PDF). Improvements are prioritized based on factors such as age, street condition, utilities condition and the type of street.

Street reconstruction and reclamation are generally chosen for streets in poor condition. Street rehabilitation is generally chosen for streets in moderate condition.

Five Year Street Improvement Plan

Streets tentatively planned for reconstruction and rehabilitation over the next five years are identified in the City’s Capital Improvement Plan (PDF).  Streets identified for reconstruction may utilize the reconstruction or reclamation strategy described above.

Please note that the planned year does not constitute a guarantee that improvements will be done that year.  The plan is reviewed annually and updates may be made at any time.
