Help support our public safety teams during emergency situations and special events. Volunteers assist our Police and Fire departments to direct traffic, maintain perimeters, set up emergency staging areas, search for missing persons and crowd control.
Two to four trainings annually
Approximately 20 hours each year
We believe Neighborhood Watch groups effectively help in the reduction of local crime and build strong neighborhoods. Block captains are responsible for organizing two neighborhood meetings annually. Meetings can be formal or informal and are not limited to crime prevention topics. Many neighborhoods find that their Neighborhood Watch groups are able to address other issues such as parks, home maintenance and traffic concerns. Our team is available to facilitate meetings, locate speakers and provide ongoing support and training for Block Captains.
Minimum one-year commitment
Two neighborhood meetings a year
Provide spiritual or emotional support to members of the Police and Fire departments, their families and members of the public.
Residents are encouraged to "Adopt-A-Hydrant" or two in their neighborhoods to make sure they are accessible after a snowfall. To make hydrants clear for Firefighters during an emergency a three foot radius around the hydrant and a three foot wide path leading to them.
