[ARCHIVED] Snow Removal Update - Feb. 20

Plowed road surrounded by snow-covered trees. Text: Snow Removal Update

Public Works dispatched all plows at 5 a.m. and will continue to plow with a full crew through the evening commute. Their goal is to get to arterial and main roadways at least three times today; collector, commercial and hilly roadways twice; and all residential roadways at least once by this evening.

A minimum crew will support emergency services overnight and the full crew will return at 2 a.m. for a full plow and cleanup.

Trails, sidewalks and transit stops are being plowed, but due to the high snowbanks, it will likely take up to two full days after the snow has stopped to clear all of them. The City will prioritize school walking routes and transit routes first. Ice rinks, park trails and parking lots could take longer.

We also need your help! If at all possible, please:
1) remove parked vehicles from the streets until all plowing is complete
2) place garbage and recycling containers in your driveway instead of in the street
3) try not to blow or plow snow into the street

As always, if you need emergency assistance – please call 9-1-1.
