Burnsville's Multi-Housing program requires rental property owners, managers and residents to share responsibility with police for creating and maintaining a safe housing environment.
The Multi-Housing Unit (MHU) reviews all incidents that occur on rental properties on a daily basis. Rental addresses can receive strikes based on tenant/guest behavior.
Three strikes in a 12-month period of time requires action by the manager/owner. If a particular residence receives three strikes, the complex must then move toward removing the tenant(s) within 14 days.
Examples of strikes can be loud music, parties, disturbances, damage to property and/or arrests. There are also other circumstances that would constitute a strike. Managers can also take action on their own prior to three strikes based on their individual lease language.
