Free to Be — Celebrating Freedom with the Black Community.
Everyone is welcome and invited to join us in celebrating Juneteenth.
Musical performances from Heather McElrath, Catalyst Artist Collective, Chadwick “Niles” Phillips.
Dance performance by Afrocontigbo Dance Group, live painting by Kenneth Caldwell, line dance party and kids crafts. Plus you can grab a bite to eat at Cave Café food truck food, chill in the cooling bus or relax in our sensory-inclusive spaces.
No registration required - bring a lawn chair/blanket and join the fun!
Juneteenth, also know as Freedom Day, is a festival held annually on the nineteenth of June to commemorate emancipation from slavery on that day in 1865. We will be celebrating on Saturday, June 18.
Directions: Take W River Hills Drive/River Hills Drive to 19th Ave to get to the park.
